|
Malignant small bowel tumors are very rare and account for less than 2% of total gastrointestinal malignancies; leiomyosarcoma account for less than 15% of total cases. Adult intussusception is also rare and represents 1% of all bowel obstructions, and 5% of all intussusceptions. Recently, laparoscopic techniques have been introduced for the diagnosis of acute abdomen disorders and the management of small bowel obstruction. We present a rare case of adult intussusception caused by epithelioid leiomyosarcoma of the jejunum that was treated by laparoscopy-assisted surgery.
